Roland Cavazos, DDS, serves as the innkeeper and owner of The Inn on the Riverwalk. Born during the opening of the 1968 World’s Fair, Roland grew up in San Antonio, where his father was a second-generation barber, and his mother managed the family restaurant. Unbeknownst to Roland’s father, those three houses at the end of Woodward Street would eventually become one of the most exceptional bed-and-breakfast establishments along the San Antonio Riverwalk.

Roland’s first experience with a bed and breakfast occurred many years ago at the Inn on the Riverwalk, owned at the time by Dr. A.D. Zucht, a dentist and hot air balloon pilot. During a balloon excursion, Roland and Dr. Zucht discovered their shared passion for dentistry and love for downtown San Antonio. As fate would have it, Dr. Zucht retired from his dental practice just as Roland began his career in dentistry.

Nearly two decades later, Roland’s search for a new home led him to the realization that the inn was for sale. Embracing the opportunity to embark on a new journey, Roland seized the chance and became the owner of The Inn on the Riverwalk.

Roland splits his time between managing the bed and breakfast and operating his dental practice. He incorporates his caring “bedside manner” into the inn’s atmosphere, ensuring that each guest feels warmly welcomed and at home. As a knowledgeable San Antonio local, Roland can provide recommendations for must-visit places and sights in the city. To start guests’ mornings on a high note, breakfast items are always served hot and made to order, catering to individual dietary preferences.

The Inn on the Riverwalk offers bicycles for guests to explore downtown San Antonio and the nearby attractions easily. They also have event spaces available for receptions or family meetings, providing event packages upon request. Guests can revel in the breathtaking views from the inn’s patios, porches, and balconies, and conveniently access the Historic King William area and the Alamo through the Riverwalk entrance. The picturesque Riverwalk invites guests to take leisurely strolls, discovering the city’s beauty along the way.

Whether guests choose to work, relax, or enjoy the captivating cityscape, the inn’s dining room offers a welcoming space. With its great views and comfortable ambiance, it serves as an ideal spot to unwind or attend to work matters.

Many of the rooms at The Inn on the Riverwalk offer spectacular views of the Riverwalk itself, the cityscape, and the enchanting night sky, adding to the overall charm and allure of the stay. The Inn on the Riverwalk promises an unforgettable experience, with its idyllic location, comfortable accommodations, delectable breakfast, and the warm hospitality Roland and the staff provided.
